Last night Made From New Zealand re-launched with a new site and a cool shin-dig at the 42 Below space in Britomart, Auckland. A good time had by all, pretty hard not too when 42 below is flowing freely in every possible cocktail imaginable (I actually had beer all night).

To cut to the chase, check out the site and start networking with other cool nz businesses like endemicworld.com. List your own and get some international attention.

The internet never stops to impress us. If you havn’t downloaded the new Firefox 3.0 browser then do it now. After that, install the piclens add-on. You can do all this in about five minutes with easy to follow prompts.

Piclens is a great new add-on that allows you to search the web visually. There are a couple of basic search functions and the results are a never ending display of images and video. You can zoom in and out, watch the video’s (pulled from youtube) and scroll along (second image).

Its easy to use and amazingly fast (managed to get streaming youtube video’s after 5pm, if your an overseas reader in NZ when the masses go home and get online the speed of our internet basically halves).

Discovered a new blog this morning while making coffee, processing orders, reading the paper and listening to Mikey Havoc…(who said males can’t multi-task). Oneplusinfinity is a blog by a designer in Brooklyn, they posted some Kowtow T-shirts hence finding myself here. Check it out. On this blog I found this post called “Suffering From Customer Satisfaction“, had this funny comic from Diesel Sweeties, another entertaining blog.

Im glad I’m not so obsessed with apple products (yet) that I have to wait outside the Vodafone store on Queens Street like the two fellows on the front page on the Herald today. I dream of being able to use my mobile to surf the web, but our mobile services in NZ are far too slow to use these features enjoyably.

In the mean time download wikipedia to your existing phone, I used it on a friends and its handy being able to find the answer to pretty much everything on your phone. All the words are linked like wikipedia, editable versions are out soon.

Thats enough geek talk for 8.30am in the morning. We will try and find some more iphone comics and the like during the week….. yes I want one.
