nzonscreen.com launched recently. I checked it out this morning and was impressed. Basically it’s a place to watch nz produced television and film.

They say… “NZ On Screen is unlocking the treasure chest, providing access to the wealth of television, film, music video and new media produced in NZ, along with knowledgeable background information.”

I really like the site, video streamed (no buffering), but this was 7:30am on a zooped up business plan from Telecom, so if your an evening surfer (5pm-10pm) your evening will be buffered no doubt.

I watched a short film about West Coast mining. Pretty cool……. and free! Thanks to NZ on Air funding. Good luck not getting busted at work watching nz’s unlocked treasure chest of tv and film. Think I will watch “Flare - A Ski Trip” next. Produced in 1977. Check out those rainbow shin ski pants….

Everyone has a favourite t-shirt. Now you can fold it perfectly everytime…

This is a very cool short film. Some lessons for you marketers out there.

One of New Zealand’s most successful and fastest growing animation/cartoon studio’s mukpuddy was interviewed on TV2 last month. I forgot to post about it so here it is. Not just creative news but one of the illustrators “Xander” a.k.a Alex Leighton is the creator behind Geek Freeks with partner Karla Hansen.

If you did not see it on T.V its worth taking 5 to watch it. It makes you want to be a kid again.

At endemicworld.com we do all sorts of stuff to make our work space fun. Lots of art, make paper toys, stick green tea packets all over the walls, take photos, crank the tunes, play hacky, share your favourite website, blog, drink loads of coffee and talk as fast as you can about the collest thing you just discovered…  These guys play with sticky notes. African Odyssey had their first Auckland premier last night at Academy Cinema. Its on again tonight. They were also interviewed on Breakfast this morning. Click on the image above to watch the video on TVNZ ondemand.

I went to the premier last night and was blown away to say the least. Any sane human would have thought these lads were doomed to think they could ride over 20,000km across Africa on farm bikes and little experience. Not only did they succeed, but they also documented the entire 6 month trip on HD. Its epic uncut NZ adventure as good as it gets and available on DVD.

Julian Kardos sports a Kinoo t-shirt in the interview too. Nice one mate.

I don’t really know what to say after watching this. The statistics are quite disturbing, the message is very compelling… but I posted it because of the creative way in which Chris Jordon has presented the statistics.

The African Odyssey successfully premiered in Whakatane two weeks ago with three sell out shows. The riders have since planned premier screenings in Auckland and Wellington.
