Behind the scenes: endemicworld.com relaunch video

One month ago we relaunched, it feels like yesterday, here is a behind the scenes peek at the launch day.

Studio Alexander & endemicworld took four weeks to conceptualize, plan, gain sponsorship, and create this relaunch in the basement of Imperial Lane, Auckland, NZ. Within each of the four ‘room’ scenes, a computer displayed the new website, while recording the event time-lapse style without anyone knowing.

This is a 20 hour day in 2:30 minutes.

Filmed & edited by Natasha Vermeulen.
Shot with Canon 5D mark II and iMac desktop cameras.
Music: No Life on Saturn by Bastard Jazz

Relaunch @ Imperial Lane

On Wednesday night last week we had a launch event to celebrate the new direction and website. Artists, designers, media, friends & family all joined in on what was an amazing night. Here are some photos!

The space was an empty concrete basement beneath Imperial Lane in downtown Auckland, there were some great spaces that naturally framed up some of the big prints on display.

There were four sets. Each one showing off a particular taste or style of art prints. Each set had a mac to browse the new site. This was the apartment.

This was the kitchen.

This was the villa lounge.

This was the kids room.

Kate Alexander (endemicworld), Sparrow Phillips (Component) & Elliot Alexander (endemicworld)

Helen Mclaren (Erupt Prints) & Alice Berry.

Natasha Vermeulen (endemicworld), Alice Lines & Nicholas Burrowes (Homestyle Magazine)

We had big videos projected onto the basement walls.

There was a brief speech.

All who attended got to take home a limited edition print called “Twice As Nice”. It was a collaboration by Alana Broadhead (Foundry) & Natasha Vermeulen. An edition of 150, signed & numbered just for the night.

Thanks to all who helped out and came along and especially to all the friendly sponsors Imperial Lane, Invivo Wines, Epic Beer and Prolam Framing.

Design Market @ Tyler Street Garage

This Saturday 26th May at 10:30 am is the first ever Design Market hosted inside the Tyler Street Garage and curated by Ministry of Art & Design.

There will be about 20 local designers selling their freshest and best work, some of which will only be available at the market. Together with some market only specials and the hospitality of the Tyler Street crew, is the recipe for some seriously good shopping vibes.

Rather than your usual crafty type market, this is going to be a mixed experience of hospitality and exhibition with the option to buy.

Visit moad for a sneak peak of the designers coming. One of our designers 326 will be there, and they have a $5 vouch on offer. Just print the vouch below and bring it with you, or spot them giving away vouchers at the Britomart Farmers Market on the day.

Support this exciting new market, spread the word!
