Blog Love

It’s been a busy week at endemicworld HQ so far… time to stop for a cuppa and a blog-break.
Here’s some of our favourite posts (from some of our favourite blogs) this week:

One of the very best parts of the amazing Design Sponge blog are the Sneak Peeks – tours of ordinary people’s homes. This one’s a beauty.

The weekly design Pick n’ Mix over at Fancy is always full of goodies.

Carry a napkin – you’ll be drooling over the recipes and the beautiful styling at Made From Scratch. Rachael’s latest recipe is Ginger Thins. Get in my belly!

Also this week, Studio Home caught up with NZ illustrator Kelly Spencer, who’s travelling around the Gold Coast in a van.

This is definitely going to happen at our place. Designer DIY cords, thanks to DesignLoveFest.

Linocut Print Making Process Video by Linocutboy

It is always a pleasure to watch an artist and see how their process of making art prints works. They are all different, some are protective of this process, some share it in beautiful videos. We just discovered linocutboy : – ) Check it out, talk about steady hands and thumb cramp. It makes you realise the extraordinary effort that goes into creating art prints. It is not as simple as some may think. This “Deep Sea Diver” print is an edition of #25 and took a few weeks to make!

Navy Signal Prints by Hana Tanimura

This weeks displaying/hanging inspiration comes from Navy Signal Prints from Google Creative Lab designer Hana Tanimura. This is a shot of her own pad with some peopls initials on the wall. It’s the bold flat colours and mix of pattern and type that do it for us. The “M” reminds us of Scotland too. To top is off they are printed giclee (fine art ink jet styles) on nothing but Hahnemühle German Etching Paper.

Klub7, Aus Deutschland

More wonderful discoveries, this time its Klub7 from Berlin. So much of our favourite work is from Germany. A collective of six artists & designers. These are three of our favourites, espesh the BIG wall. Take 10 and check them out (or maybe 20, you’ll need it, there is 10 years of work to poozle through).

Our Print Club Favourites!

Every town has its spot to go and get the best limited edition screen prints from local illustrators, designers, street artists and the like. In London, it’s Print Club London. A solid archive of underground upper-comers, all in one amazing place where they hold classes for print artists, have gear to rent and do shows too. Here is our short list we want right now.

Blue Jolly” by Rosha Nutt Limited edition screenprint of 50. We like the summeryness and colours. Its also a big 500×700 sheet so nice and big statement styles on ya wall.

“Yo” by Casaandra Yap. Limited edition screenprint of just 25. Who wouldn’t want this print.

“Landscape 2″ by Paul Wardski. Limited Edition screenprint of 50. Nice small square print, would go perfect in a bach down south. It reminds us of Rob Roy glacier in Wanaka.

“King Pheasant II” by Vicky Langdon. Limited edition screenprint of 5. We like low editions, we like birds, especially pheasents, love the colours and placement on the sheet.
