Semi-Permanent 2008 (a design event) is on in Auckland during August 15th-16th. Idealog Magazine is right behind it and have a cool competition going for Rookie Designers.
If you consider yourself a rookie designer Idealog want you to submit/create a visual explosion representing Idealog. Winner is crowned Idealog Rookie Designer of the Year plus heaps of prizes worth $890. Plus they make your design into a t-shirt and tell the world about how good you are at designing. Not a bad way to kick start your designer career.
So get designing and good luck to those who enter.
Staff member Anthony, dropped in his Design Your Own Vans entry today at C4tv. Lets hope he wins the trip to L.A to see a huge skate competition and get his shoes made at Vans. The competition closes tonight, so if you think you can design a pair of shoes in a day give it a crack.

Big companies are jumping on “ART” as the new cool by inviting design submissions. Nike did it, Vans are doing it and so are Dr Martins. So get out your pens and pencils (or photoshop on your mac of course) and start designing. Would be cool if someone from New Zealand won. Its Aussies vs Kiwi’s on this one.
