Interview with Guy Bellerby
Guy Bellerby Interview from endemicworld.com on Vimeo.
We ‘casually’ interviewed Guy Bellerby from Bellerby Clothing in the weekend. Thanks for having us Guy. Can’t wait to see the new range out on the people.
Don’t laugh at the production of our first designer interview… but do please share it, blog it, watch it, join us in spreading the word about New Zealand Designers and in the meantime we will practise our editing skills.
Let us know who you want interviewed… or just leave cheeky comments for Guy and the producer.
In the video Guy wears a new Rob Tucker Crew from his new 2008 range coming soon.

Micky Skull Cut Out Jaw Man Face….
Some fun to be had at crafthead, a site for crafting your own head as part of the build up to semi-permanent, one of nz’s biggest design events. Make a face then vote for ours. We think the name of ours is a bit long. Its inspired by skulls (hurst style), micky mouse (frizzel style) and blogging before 8am.
Oh, and last day to get 50% off selected t-shirts. Offer ends tonight. Many have sold out. And check out the new Kinoo range that went live yesterday.
Have a good Wednesday, or humpday as they call it in NYC.

Search Heaven
The internet never stops to impress us. If you havn’t downloaded the new Firefox 3.0 browser then do it now. After that, install the piclens add-on. You can do all this in about five minutes with easy to follow prompts.
Piclens is a great new add-on that allows you to search the web visually. There are a couple of basic search functions and the results are a never ending display of images and video. You can zoom in and out, watch the video’s (pulled from youtube) and scroll along (second image).
Its easy to use and amazingly fast (managed to get streaming youtube video’s after 5pm, if your an overseas reader in NZ when the masses go home and get online the speed of our internet basically halves).
Choice.
We are using this all the tie when using the int

Rob Tucker Art Exhibition
Our favourite New Zealand artist Rob Tucker has a new exhibition opening on Thursday the 24th of July at Smyth Galleries. I’ve had a sneak preview and it’s amazing to say the least. Go Robo. So head down to Smyth Galleries on Thursday or sometime between July 24th and August 13th. But on the other hand if you want to buy his work go to the opening. Rob’s last show almost sold out on the opening night…

mychillbin
New Zealand now has its own user-generated photo library. Mychillibin is a website where you can upload your photographs for others to buy. So your photography could be the next cover of Metro…
Beware it is royalty free for buyers, so they can do anything with your photography once they have bought an image. You can decide for yourself if this is good or bad for the industry, but the site is easy to use and its designed well. If you need an image pronto for something your doing (web or print) or want to get your photo library paying for itself it could be worth a try.
Some interesting content to say the least.

Kiwi Series by Eric Orr
Bronx / New Zealand artist Eric Orr is one of our heroes. Famous for his robot head and street art history with Keith Haring in NYC subways, he has traveled to NZ enough for it to be his home away from home. We were lucky enough to meet him and share a beer on a sunny Auckland beach last summer. Ever since we have been meaning to show you one of our favourite pieces he did while in NZ.
This is Kiwi series # 3 - Acrylic, china pencil on New York City Subway Map, 2007.
This and two other Kiwi Maps by Eric are here in NZ. There were only four in total so they are collectable to say the least. To find out more contact Eric’s representative Jillian de Beer.
We look forward to when he is back in AK…
